Leadership

Miles Braxton
Managing Member
Miles has spent nine years in solar across project development, business development, project finance, risk management, and asset management. He leads every Hillcrest engagement directly.
He began his finance career as an Associate in Renewable Power at Goldman Sachs, then served as Director of Risk Management at Summit Ridge Energy, a leading community solar owner-operator. He went on to co-found Okovate Sustainable Energy, a community solar developer focused on agrivoltaics, where he originates projects and sells them to developers and IPPs at early development stages.
That seat on the sell side of early-stage transactions is the foundation of Hillcrest's approach: pricing the risk buyers actually see, and structuring deals that close.
Miles has been recognized on the Forbes 30 Under 30, AfroTech 50, GreenBiz 30 Under 30, and Ebony Power 100 lists.
Outside of his clean energy businesses, Miles serves on the board of the Colorado Agrivoltaics Learning Center (CALC) and the Ridley Scholarship Board at the University of Virginia. He is also Senior Advisor to BlackOak Collective, a nonprofit he co-founded that connects a network of more than 600 Black students, professionals, and advocates in sustainability. He is a proud Doodle dad.
